Malteurop in Australia

Located close to Australia’s busiest export port and adjacent to some of the best malting barley regions in Australia, the Geelong malting plant is well established and continues to develop its reputation as a reliable quality supplier to domestic and Asian export markets. The plant is ISO & HACCP accredited and also has traceability protocols in place .

The plant has the adaptability to pack and ship malt in several ways - bulk in ship’s hold, bulk/bagged in container, individual bagged & palletized malt – and this flexibility ensures our operations meet our customers’ requirements.

Operational since 1998 and acquired by Malteurop in August 2008, the Geelong plant is one of the most efficient in Australia and provides a firm platform for further investment to meet the burgeoning demand in the Asia Pacific region.

Malteurop Australia produces basic malts — Pilsen and Pale — from two-row barley.

Malteurop Australia has been certified HACCP (Food Safety) and IS0 9001 (Quality) since 2008, ISO 14001 (Environment) since 2004, and OHSAS 18001 (Safety) since 2007.

Malteurop Australia received the Lion Top Ten Supplier Award in 2007 and the Lion Company Award in 2011 and 2012.

Malteurop is embarking on a project to upgrade its malting plant at Geelong that will increase the annual malting capacity of the site in 2018. Work will start in November 2016 and our partner VicTech Consulting Pty Ltd will handle the construction project.
